Letzi Residential Tower Zurich

Against the backdrop of the inaccessible expanse of the increasingly meandering and crisscrossing railroad tracks, the new project of the Letzi Residential Tower assumes a height development which, by its rhythmic figure, fits into the line formed by Letzibach C and D, without however marking an overly pronounced conclusion. The sequence of vertical towers is, at the bottom, held together by a common base, though their shape is based on a repetition, a distinctive law of forms, which continues in the flat hall buildings of the main SBB workshop. Above, this vertical development is enhanced by a series of bay windows, which allow diagonal vistas and capture the first rays of the sun. Inside, the lower floors house the collective functions and the upper ones two different types of flats, depending on the degree of insolation and vistas.
